The 90's Were Awkward

I was in Las Vegas listening to the radio, and I heard "It Feels So Good" by Sonique. You remember that 90's techno classic, probably got heavy play on Z 104 (act like you didn't just get nostalgic). Anyway, wasn't sure at the time who actually sang the song, and well, I'm okay with that. I thought it might be that song the worst looking Spice Girl came out with after they broke up. So I got curious, and I was right. Here's what I found:

Seriously, they couldn't get her a better wardrobe? Is she allergic to jeans and form fitting pants? That fast-motion cloud sequence really brought me back. I'm glad I was young and impressionable when the 90's rolled through. I hope there aren't any lasting effects. It's embarrassing. The 90's were the middle school of decades.

In all fairness, this guy is guilty, the song is awesome.

  1. Every time you look back at your childhood you are amazed at the prepostourous outfits and hair styles. I however, feel as though as we treck through the decades we get a little less rediculous. I mean really, look at the hippies from the 60's and 70's. The 80's were just wack. Look at rock/metal sex icons. The dudes looked like chicks make up et al. F'in weird.

The 90's as always brought some changes. My favorite way to reminesce is to watch the fresh prince of bel air. Will's outfits. albeit dope, are just wow. You would think everyone in the 90's was color blind or something. (Also an interesting note, one of my favorite moments is when Will gets a cell phone and it's one of those huge original ones. Oh how the times change for the better)

In response to your musical re-enlightening, 90's music was the shit. Heavy on the techno/dance pop booty shaking awesomeness. So great the decades music, I have a playlist on my ipod devoted to just those bumpin jams. Not much else can put a smile on your face and make you want to throw a spontaneous dance party.

This coming from a hardcore eminem fan may surprise you, but hey, even eminem debuted in the 90's. Oh what a sweet day it was watching TRL. (Shut up my sister used to watch it)

I leave you with this: The 90's were awesome, no diggity, no doubt!
